While I did not make this fun hair accessory from scratch like my other stuff, I did make it into what it is.I found a pewter (I think) charm, painted it, and attached it to a clip.

There are three stars: a large pink one, medium bronze one, and a small lime green one. They have faux rhinestones that look like sparkly cobblestones, giving your hair a great added texture. The barrette should hold in all hair, from fine to thick.

The next in my line of geek chic jewelry: Two actual (deactivated*) mobile phone microsim cards are connected by wire loops to stainless steel earwires. Anyone in the know will realize that currently the only thing that uses the microsim card is the iPhone 4. So show off your fashion-tech savvy with a bit of nerd bling.

These microsim card earrings are coated in a thick layer of clear resin to give them a bit more depth and heft. They are still very light and wearable, but now the circuitry and logo are slightly magnified due to the curve of the resin.

Another in my line of geek chic / nerd bling jewelry: these earrings are made of two real 3g cell phone sim cards attached back to back so the provider name is covered and only the circuitry shows on both sides. They are connected to gold colored earwires by gold colored chains. They are very light, so it feels like you're wearing nothing at all.

I revamped this necklace because it didn't sit right, both literally and figuratively.

abalone necklace

This necklace is made of seven natural abalone shell chips, connected wire jumprings on a silver chain. It is incredibly lightweight, like you're wearing nothing at all. The chips are two sided: one side has darker blues, greens, purples, and blacks, with a pockmarked texture. The other side is smooth, with lighter colors, whites, lavenders, browns, and greens. Though of course both sides are iridescent and so reflect a bit of a rainbow, depending on the light.

This special necklace focuses on a delicate copper faerie (fairy) holding a dark green glass cat's eye marble. She is centered on a chain of dyed pearls in a lustrous brass-gold-green and Swarovski crystal pearl rounds in light green. The clasp is an antique brass colored S-hook with a little daisy.

The photos may appear a bit blurry because the lustre of the pearls is pretty great. These photos were all taken in natural light - some in direct sunlight and some in shade.

The flashy part of this otherwise simple necklace is definitely the dichroic glass pendant, which is green with touches of gold and orange. This may be my favorite bracelet that I've made, at least in a long time.

5 strands of color grading seed beads form a rainbow around your wrist, separated by mirror-finish silver "rungs" and meet in a simple box clasp (also mirror-finish silver colored). The beeds and separators are so small that the lightweight bracelet sits nearly flush on your arm, running very little risk of it getting caught on something and bursting apart.

Length: about 6 & 1/2 inches long and about 1 & 1/2 inch wide.

Note - all these pictures were taken in natural light with no flash, and no editing was done after the fact.

THese simple earrings are made of 2 pieces of thick fired glass, which when looked at upside down look like an exclamation point. (!) denim necklace

I had originally started this necklace as something for a man to wear, but my penchant for color may have crossed the line between "masculine" and "feminine." (Of course, who am I to judge who wears what?)

Chunky rectangles of blackstone alternate with small shiny black round beads, with accents of tiny white glass cat's eyes. Even though the stone is called blackstone, the actual color is more of a dark gray, similar to what dark jeans left out in the sun look like. Because of this coloring, this necklace would look great with something casual like blue jeans and a white t-shirt, or something dressier like a classic little black dress. And, for the most part, the stones are smooth like glass (barring a few minor flaws that come with shaping beads out of natural stone.)

It closes with a hematite barrel clasp, which twists / screws to open and close.

Length: about 21 inches.

This ankle bracelet is made of light blue tin cylinders interspersed with faux crystal rounds (they're plastic), and is therefore practically weightless. It's a bit thicker than some anklets, but the color and sparkle it adds to any spring or summer outfit are worth it.

This gorgeous and unique necklace has a bit of heft to it. Four jade rings ("donuts") are connected by silver wire and spaced by manmade blackstone rounds. These same rounds make up the remainder of the necklace, and it is closed by a sterling silver bar and hoop clasp.

These are just a few examples that can be made. These snowflakes come with a loop for hanging, making them great as xmas ornaments, or just general wintery decrations for around the home.

These examples are all around 4 inches from tip to tip, and made with a variety of plastic, metal, or glass beads. The second and third pictures are of the same snowflake - one hanging with a natural light backdrop and one lying on a shiny black surface (no flash was used).

The necklace has 3 tiers in front, but only one goes completely around the neck. The strands are made of rainbow-lined silver seed beads, plastic AB-coated rounds, Swarovski crystal-clear bicone crystals, and glass AB drops. Stiff wire holds the necklace's shape, and silver spacer bars separate the front tiers and create the pendant.

The pendant itself is made of a round, a bicone and a sterling silver rose with an AB Swarovski crystal in the middle. Hanging from this are 5 lengths of tiny sterling silver chain, each with a faceted AB Swarovski briolette at the end.

The toggle clasp matches the pendant's rose; a silver vine hoop and bar with an AB Swarovski butterfly accent.

The earrings are an exact replica of the pendant: a round, a bicone, and a rose, followed by a chain and a briolette. The earwire is sterling silver.

LENGTHS:

Necklace: the strand that goes all the way around the neck (the shortest one) is about 15 inches. About 3/4 of an inch separate the top strand from the bottom strand. The pendant's total length, from the lowest tier to the longest tip of a briolette is 4.75 inches.

rainbow horseshoe necklace

This exciting multi-strand necklace focuses on a glass horseshoe. One side of of it is a pretty bright blue, and the other is very light blue / white with a gold stripe down the middle. The strands are iridescent blue/green/purple bugle beads interspaced between 1) reddish-brown glass discs, 2) cool-colored glass pearls, and 3) warm-colored glass pearls.
The strands all meet in a gold colored, rose shaped box clasp.

When you look closely, you can see the clear nylon thread in the clusters of 3 pearls, but the thread is invisible when worn or when viewed from more than a few inches away.

These fun earrings are made of 5 light blue Swarovski curved glass pearls dangling loosely so they rotate like a windchime. Because of the rotation, sometimes the beads align to form a perfect "unicorn horn" style spiral, as you can see in the pictures.

The very bottom bead is a tiny AB coated clear glass drop, which is almost invisible except in certain light.

This collar - style necklace was made for a friend who said "give me garnets and butterflies!" So I complied.

A wire base keeps the shape and width of the frame. Garnet chips and black seed beads meet a matching enameled butterfly with gold plated wire support in the middle, and gold spacer bars with an adjustable gold chain in the back.

The topmost picture is of my first attempt, before we decided that in this case, less was more.

This necklace is really 2 in 1. The focus is on a 15mm clear Swarovski star crystal, which has a handmade wire hook to make it a pendant. The pendant then hooks into a wire circle in the center of either strand #1 or #2, which are nearly identical.

Strand #1 is made of plastic dark silver beads interlaced with clear 4mm Swarovski bicones. Strand #2 is cream-colored faux pearls, with the same bicones.

Both strands end in a very cute star/moon hook clasp.

The checkerboard pattern looks to be made of mother of pearl and abalone, but I'm not sure. The large oval in the center measures just over 1 & 1/2 inch by 1 & 1/4 inch, and the 2 side circles measure 1 inch by 1 inch.

The clasp is a handmade wire spiral hook.

The body of the choker, with each side measuring about 3 & 1/2 inches, is made of dark silver bugle beads in a right-angle weave.

The total length of the choker is about 15 inches.
